Description of the organization's activities: Frontier College is Canada's original literacy organization founded in 1899. We recruit and train volunteers to be literacy tutors for children, youth and adults living in disadvantaged communities across the country.
Organization's membership or classes of membership: The Frontier College membership consists of Current Members and Lifetime Members who are not less than eighteen (18) years of age. Current Members consist of current Learners, volunteers (being people recruited, screened, trained, and supported by the College, including tutors and labourer teachers), Governors, committee members, Honourary Governors and staff. Lifetime Members consist of individuals or organizations upon whom the Board may, from time to time, confer life membership in recognition of outstanding contribution to the College.
