Description of activities:
Established in 1924, the OHA serves as the voice of the province’s public hospitals, supporting them through advocacy, knowledge translation and member engagement, labour relations, and data and analytics with the goal of helping hospitals build a better health system. The OHA is also attuned to the broader strategic questions facing the future of the province’s health care system and we work to ensure Ontario’s hospitals have a voice in shaping this longer-term vision.

    • THE ONTARIO HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION (OHA) IS A VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATION REPRESENTING APPROXIMATELY 160 PUBLIC HOSPITAL CORPORATIONS, OR 225 SITES, IN ONTARIO. AMONG ITS MEMBERS ARE ALL THE PUBLIC HOSPITALS IN ONTARIO AS WELL AS THE PROVINCE'S PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITALS. MANY OTHER HEALTH-RELATED ORGANIZATIONS ARE AMONG OHA'S APPROXIMATELY 200 ASSOCIATE AND AFFILIATE MEMBERS. LEADERSHIP: TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN THE GOVERNANCE, MANAGEMENT, AND DELIVERY OF HEALTH CARE; ADVOCACY: TO INFLUENCE THE FORMULATION OG LEGISLATION AND POLICY WHICH IMPACT ITS MEMBERS; EDUCATION: TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO INCREASE THE KNOWLEDGE AND ENHANCE THE SKILLS OF HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS. COMMUNICATION: TO PROMOTE BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM THROUGH THE PROVIDER PERSPECTIVE; SERVICE: TO PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICES WHICH WILL SUPPORT ONTARIO HOSPITALS IN THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH CARE.
