Influence the repeal of assisted suicide based on disability and prevent the expansion of assisted suicide. This includes advocacy relating to existing and forthcoming legislation, bills and parliamentary studies of the issue such as: the AMAD Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying, the March 2027 sunset clause relating to MAiD and mental illness, Bill C-218, and any new government legislation. We also advocate for measures to address the root causes of suicidality including social services, health supports, access to housing and full inclusion in all aspects of society.
