Management Response and Action Plan – Privacy Impact Assessment of the closed circuit video monitoring system for 410 Laurier Avenue West

Background

In December of 2019, the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying (OCL) retained the services of Maxsys staffing & Consulting to conduct a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) of the closed circuit video monitoring system for the office located at 410 Laurier avenue west 8th floor in Ottawa Ontario. The final report was completed in May 2020.

Objective

The objective of this document is to present the management response and action plan based on the recommendations made in the PIA conducted on the OCL’s closed circuit video monitoring system.

Recommendation #1:

Clarify the collection of personal information.

Action Responsible official Target completion date
1. Create a Security Camera Policy for approval by the Executive Management Committee. Director, Corporate Services Completed on December 21, 2020.
2. Make the policy available to visitors and staff. Completed on January 26, 2021.
